My biggest healer is art. when I'm feeling confused/lost then I go to tate modern or tate britain and I take in an exhibition, on my own and slowly. Then I go to the shop and buy myself books that I would never have thought of if they weren't in the Tate - I recently bought one on the Japanese aesthetic principle Wabi Sabi, which I had never heard of and has made me think so differently.
Then I buy a print which I can frame and add to my house. Then I have a hot chocolate on the 8th floor. I'm totally silent the whole time which is the biggest luxury for me as a social working mum. And I don't think about any of the norms - just focus on the story of the amazing creative. I come home feeling totally calm, peaceful and like there is some beauty in the world.
